A new decade has dawned on us.

What does this mean in terms of events to pay attention to in 2010?

For starters, the upcoming week brings Milwaukee's new Catholic Archbishop, Jerome Listecki, and the first Packers playoff game of the decade.

February brings the first of four elections in Wisconsin, one of which will decide a new governor to take over for Governor Jim Doyle.

The first extended weekend of April will be rather eventful, with Easter weekend falling on a major time for sports fans, with the NCAA Final Four and the Brewers' season opener at home this year at Miller Park.

The Walter Ellis "North side strangler" case is scheduled to begin in May.

Then there are Summerfest and all of Milwaukee's ethnic festivals, which span the calendar between June and September.

Don't forget, golf fans, to head north to Whistling Straits for the PGA Championship in August.

Then, it's football season again in September with the Badgers starting up in Las Vegas and the Packers beginning their 2010 campaign a week later.

Then, before you know it's, it's Christmas 2010 and New Years' 2011!
