Baby Dead, Found Under Mattress
MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Charges are expected this week in the death of a 6-month-old baby girl whose body was found stuffed under a mattress in her Milwaukee home.
Authorities say Dekia Mattox died early Saturday morning. Milwaukee police said she may have been beaten.
A few people have been arrested in the case, which police are calling a homicide.
The house where the girl was found in the 2700 block of N. Richards Street was boarded up Monday. Authorities had been there several times before on reports of alleged drug dealing.
