Feingold Backs Health Care Bill
MILWAUKEE - Senator Russ Feingold (D-Wisconsin) has made a change up on the health care bill which had a 60-40 test vote pass in the Senate.
Feingold has been pushing for a public option to be included on the healthcare reform bill. The current legislation has dropped that language. Feingold's office issued a statement saying, "...the lack of support from the administration made keeping the public option in the bill an uphill struggle."
The senator's statement continued on to say the lack of a public option was a tough pill to swallow, but Feingold's backing the bill anyway.
Feingold said the cost of inaction is too high and he will continue to push lawmakers drafting the final compromise version of healthcare reform, to put the public option back into the bill.
