Teens Accused Of Prostitution, Robberies, Beating

By Michael George

FOND DU LAC - Police say it started with teenage girls running a prostitution business on the Web site Craigslist. But then, things turned violent.

It's a disturbing and unusual accusation. Fond du Lac police say 17-year-old Samantha Stubbe posted an ad on Craigslist, offering men sex with her friend, 18-year-old Stevi Smet.

"It all started for a scheme to make money, and it was sex for dollars. We know that it happened at least once," said Major Kevin Lemke of the Fond du Lac police department.

According to a criminal complaint, Stubbe said she would not consider herself a pimp, but a "skank agent."

Police say after soliciting one man, the girls decided to try something new.

"They came up with a better idea to make money, which used the premise of sex for money, but then turned into a strong arm robbery situation," Major Lemke said.

Police say this time there were as many as six teens involved, both boys and girls. They allegedly lured victims in with the Craigslist prostitution ad, then threatened them with a baseball bat and robbed them.

"They all know each other. Some go to high school together. It's just very disturbing because any child can get on Craigslist," Lemke said.

Six teens have been arrested, as well as one of the men who allegedly solicited a prostitute.
