Black Friday Shopping Bargains
MILWAUKEE - Black Friday is still days away, yet there are a lot of great deals already posted on-line both officially and in underground blogs. Some of the deals are surprising. Case in point: Walgreens has some remarkable holiday bargains.
Over a hundred toys will be half price at $4.99. The ever-popular Webkinz Lil' Kinz toys are buy one get one free. Patriot jar candles can be purchased for $8.99.
Bridget VanderZanden suggests arriving at the stores early, early, early on Friday morning.
TODAY'S TMJ4 asked Bridget if she was concerned about being crushed as she entered a store on Black Friday. "I've never had too much of a problem with that," she said with a laugh.
"Because you're scrappy?" asked TODAY'S TMJ4.
"Yes," she said still chuckling.
You might need to be scrappy if you want to take advantage of the limited number of LCD TV's on sale for $99. The big ticket items will get customers in the store.
Manager Christian Waddick says once customers are there, they load up on offers including Snuggies for $7.99. He held up one Snuggie that caught our eye. The box features a small Snuggie wrapped around a Dachshund.
"It's a Snuggie for dogs," Christian said with a wry smile. "It features a cute little wiener dog. They come in multiple sizes."
Best Buy has a ton of holiday offerings on sale. Compaq netbook computers, Samsung refrigerators and dishwashers and plasma televisions are all on sale.
The same is true at Walmart where Blu-ray players, plasma televisions and even a Tom Tom GPS will be offered.
There are a lot of online offerings by retailers too. But we found that most of the dramatic bargains were only available in person.
