Local NewsMilwaukee Christmas Celebrations BeginBy The WTMJ News TeamMILWAUKEE - With Thanksgiving a week away, and temperatures forecasted to reach the 50's this weekend, Christmas is still in the air, and the city's celebrations of the holidays begin Thursday. From malls to city streets to area parks to some people's homes, decorations are already on display. Dozens of signs of the season are on display at Pere Marquette Park in downtown Milwaukee. An official lighting ceremony will happen at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Just before then, the Milwaukee City/County Christmas Treet will be lit at 4:30 p.m. Milwaukee's 83rd Annual "Holiday" Parade will happen Saturday in downtown Milwaukee. It starts at 9:30 a.m. on East Kilbourn Avenue near North Astor Street, and it ends at the Grand Avenue Mall on West Wisconsin Avenue. Both Newsradio 620 WTMJ and TODAY'S TMJ4 HD will be represented in the parade. TODAY'S TMJ4 HD's "Live at Daybreak" will be well represented by Susan Kim and Vince Vitrano, while John Jagler, Gene Mueller and Andi Miller from 620WTMJ's "Wisconsin's Morning News" will also appear in the parade. |
