Walker vetoed 35 items, bringing back certain privitization measures as well as a plans to cut park worker jobs and put parking meters down at the lakefront. Walker says his vetoes are designed to keep the property tax levy from going up. "Let it be clear that basic services from public safety to transportation to quality of life components will be protected in the version I send down to the full County Board of Supervisors," said Walker. County Board Chariman Lee Holloway is disagreeing with Walker. He issued a statement saying Walker's doing damage to the community and not looking out for the people of Milwaukee County. Holloway says Walker's vetoes are being driven by his campaign for governor. The County Board meets Wednesday to decide if it will override any of Walker's vetoes. |
