Apartment Fire on Milwaukee's East Side
MILWAUKEE - Firefighters spent some of the early morning hours of Tuesday battling a fire on the city's east side.
The fire happened at an apartment building on the corner of North Farwell Avenue and East Lafayette Place.
Crews came to the scene about 4:00 a.m. and saw fire coming from the roof of the building.
It appears that everyone got out of the apartment building safely, but a police officer suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to a hospital.
Investigators are trying to find a cause.
