Midwest Airlines' Parent Company To Add 800 Jobs in Milwaukee

Republic Airways Holdings, the company that owns Midwest Airlines, has announced it will add 800 full time jobs and keep 700 current positions in Milwaukee.

Midwest will also add non-stop flights from Milwaukee to Raleigh-Durham and San Francisco.

"These additional jobs reaffirm the commitment we've made to the local Milwaukee community since we welcomed Midwest Airlines to the Republic Airways family," said Bryan Bedford, chairman, president and CEO of Republic Airways in a statement.

"This is great news for Milwaukee and all of Wisconsin," said Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle. "I am pleased that we could successfully work with Republic Airways and retain the airline hub in Milwaukee, continuing a strong tradition in Milwaukee County."
