Co-Sleeping Death in Hartland
HARTLAND, Wis. (AP) -- The Waukesha County medical examiner's office is investigating the death of a 2-month-old boy in Hartland who was found not breathing after being put down in bed with his mother.
Deputy Medical Examiner Kristine Klenz says the 18-year-old mother used both a bassinet and her own bed for the baby at various times. The baby was found not breathing Saturday morning. The cause of death is pending.
The baby's father is serving in the military in Iraq. Klenz says are working to get him home.
A news release from the Hartland Police Department says the family is cooperating with the investigation.
