Local NewsPolice Find 312 Juveniles at RaveMILWAUKEE - Police shut down a "rave type party" involving 312 juveniles in a vacant building near MLK and North early Sunday. Two armed security guards, the building owner and the DJ were arrested. According to police, the owner will be cited for numerous violations. It all started shortly after midnight when squads were dispatched to trouble with a subject in the 2200 block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. The officers found a vacant building where a large party was going on. Organizers were charging $10 per person to enter. There were several security guards, both armed and unarmed on the scene. A DJ was playing music and hundreds of young people were dancing. Police shut down the party and arrested two of the security guards for carrying concealed weapons. The owner of the building arrived later and he was eventually arrested for obstructing the officers. Police said the owner gave several different stories on who should be on the premises. The DJ was arrested as part of an unrelated homicide case. There was only one door operating for everyone to go in and out. Two doors in front of the building had bars or gates over them so they could not be opened. Police said the building owner will be cited for numerous violations including no occupancy permit, and not having a dance license.
