Wisconsin Health Care Cost Higher than Midwest Average
MILWAUKEE - Wisconsin is an overachiever when it comes to one aspect of health care, but it's not a good thing.
The cost of health care in this state is above average for the Midwest.
A new study from the Greater Milwaukee Business Foundation on Health says insurance premiums in Wisconsin were about 9% higher in 2007 than the rest of the region.
Researchers tell the Journal Sentinel says you can blame higher payments to doctors.
Things are better than they were in 2003, when a similar crunching of the numbers showed people in Wisconsin were paying 39% more for health care than the average in the Midwest.
