Local NewsMajor Changes to Health Insurance in WisconsinBy Jodi BeckerAudio: Wisconsin Insurance Commissioner Sean Delwig MILWAUKEE - Big changes are coming to the health insurance plans that cover about one-third of the people in Wisconsin. State Insurance Commissioner Sean Delwjg says that kids up to age 27 can be covered under their parents plans, but he says there are a few caveats. "This is only the private insurance market, and also the state and municipal markets," said Dilweg. 'If you're self funded, like large companies would be, this is not mandated on you. This will affect about 1.8 million people across the state." Dilweg says seven other states have similar requirements. The change goes into effect January 1st. |
