Former Beaver Dam High School Student Killed in Crash
BEAVER DAM - An 18-year-old former Beaver Dam High School student died in a car crash Tuesday morning.
The Dodge County Sheriff's Department said the victim's car crossed the center line into the northbound lanes of state Highway 26 and struck a semi trailer north of Watertown. He was pronounced dead at the scene and the semi driver, 57, was injured. An initial investigation determined that speed was not a factor.
The accident happened about 6:30 a.m. between county highways JM and CJ.
The young man graduated from Beaver Dam in June, and grief counselors were on hand at the school on Wednesday. Nearly a dozen current and former students have died in car crashes in the past two years.
