MILWAUKEE - Tickets to go see John Mayer at Milwaukee's Summerfest go on sale next Saturday, March 24. He'll be performing at the Marcus Amphitheater on July 3. Ben Folds and Brett Dennen will open the show.

Mayer debuted with the multi-platinum album "Room For Squares" in 2001 and 2003’s follow-up "Heavier Things." His recent, self-produced album, "Continuum," features the hit single “Waiting On The World To Change,” offering lyrics about the current political environment and perceived political inaction of young people today.

Already a three-time Grammy winner, Mayer took home two more awards at this year’s 49th annual Grammy Awards. “Waiting On The World To Change” won Best Male Pop Vocal Performance and "Continuum" won Best Pop Vocal Album. Mayer was recognized on the cover of Rolling Stone’s February issue as one of the “Top Twenty New Guitar Gods.”

Joining Mayer on tour is Ben Folds, the former frontman of Ben Folds Five, a pianist, songwriter, performer and multi-instrumentalist. His first solo record after the band’s split was "Rockin’ the Suburbs" in 2001, in which he played nearly all the instruments, notably guitar. Newcomer to the indie folk/rock scene, Brett Dennen, will open the 7:30 p.m. show.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. and will be available for $65.50, $55.50, $43.00 and $30.50. Price includes Summerfest admission.

Tickets can be purchased at the Marcus Amphitheater Box Office, Ticketmaster Ticket Centers, online at ticketmaster.com and by phone at 414.276.4545 (Milwaukee), 920.494.1414 (Green Bay), 608.255.4646 (Madison), and 608.789.4545 (La Crosse).
