A severed fiber optic line has knocked out 911 service to phone customers in the Johnson Creek area.
A TDS Telecom spokeswoman confirmed that long distance, 911, and Internet service were out in Johnson Creek, Watertown and Reeseville. A road crew is responsible for accidentally cutting the fiber optic line.
It could take hours to fix, the company said.
