Local News$3M Settlement Recommended for Alleged Police BrutalityBy Jay SorgiMILWAUKEE - Milwaukee's city attorney is recommending a $3 million settlement for a man who accused a former police officer of paralyzing him. Back in December 2003, former MPD officer Kevin Clark arrested Curtis Harris in a domestic dispute. Harris claims that Clark slammed his head against a wall. Clark then allegedly put his knee right into the back of Harris, who says he became a quadriplegic because of Clark's attack. He filed a lawsuit against Clark and the city. City Attorney Grant Langley suggested the $3 million settlement, which might be the largest police brutality settlement in the history of the city. Clark was fired after going sledding while on duty. |
