New Details In Whitnall "Sexting" Case

GREENFIELD - A search warrant offers new details about a "sexting" investigation at Whitnall High School.

A 14-year-old boy was arrested last week after a freshman girl told the school resource officer he had nude photos of her.

According to a search warrant, police believe those nude photos came from the girls' ex-boyfriend and that that ex-boyfriend has a prior record for 2nd degree sexual assault of a child.

The warrant says the 14-year-old girl e-mailed revealing pictures of herself to her then boyfriend in November of 2008. He later used another boy's iPod to access the photos. It was that other boy who was arrested at school.

Police seized the ex-boyfriend's computer. His attorney says his client's prior juvenile conviction is not related to "sexting" or the teenage girl in this case. He also says his client has not been arrested in connection with the most recent investigation.

The case has Whitnall parents shaking their heads. "I don't understand the kids these days," said Tijuana Jackson. "Where's the respect for yourself and your body?"

Tom Fallon, who has an 8th grade daughter, was upset about the student's prior record. "If there's kids who they know have already had issues, I think parents should know about it," he said.

School officials did not return calls for comment.

Police say they have not asked for any charges yet.
