OSHKOSH - Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Eagle Scouts from all over the upper Midwest are in Oshkosh for the weekend.  They are taking part in the Great Lakes Centennial Jamboree.

"It's a celebration of the 2000 Jamboree.  It's a once in a lifetime thing.  You gotta take advantage of that while you got it," said Zachary Popek of South Milwaukee.

The Scouts are doing activities the organization is known for such as tying knots and navigating compass courses, but they are also taking a modern approach.  "There is Guitar Hero and robot clubs," said Bill Haggard, an organizer of the event. And don't forget the rock climbing, pumpkin stew, turkey roasting and even a guest appearance by Miss Wisconsin.

"It's just like the fact that you can go around and do whatever and can have as much fun as you want," said Popek.  Garrett Cagle of Racine enjoys it too.  "I like scouting and big events like this with a bunch of people to come. It's real fun," Cagle said.

The jamboree wraps up Sunday.
