(You can send a check to any location.) GERMANTOWN - Police in Germantown say so many people have come forward with donations for a family devistated by fire that they no longer need goods. Police say the Bugni family could still use cash donations, but they have plenty of clothes and basics for life. The fire destroyed the home where a pregnant mother and father lived with 9 children in the 11500 block of North Shadow Wood Drive. "It's simply been overwhelming," said Germantown Police Chief Peter Hoell. "We've got quite a large pile here at the police department which we will turn over to the family for what they can use." Hoell says a fund has also been established for the Bugni family at First Bank Financial in Germantown. Damage from the fire is estimated at $500,000. Meanwhile, the family's 12-year-old son is expected to go through Children's Court this afternoon. He's accused of starting the fire. "To learn that not only a family member caused the fire, but it was a criminal act - it was just a double tragedy," said Germantown Police Chief Peter Hoell on Wisconsin's Morning News about the fire that made the 11-member Bugni family homeless early Thursday morning. "We believe that he did commit a criminal act and did start the fire," said Hoell. "When he appeared and was discovered, we knew something was amiss." |
