Another Fight at Mayfair Mall

Another Fight at Mayfair Mall

WAUWATOSA - Gary Green was walking out of the movie theater Sunday night after seeing a film and saw a dozen teenagers yelling and taunting one another.

"It started to get really loud as we were leaving. People were screaming," Green said.

He said within seconds more people jumped into the fight.

"There was another five kids or so that came running up and they were yelling. They apparently had gotten some friends and came back to the theater area," Green explained.

Police arrived and arrested as many as eight people, including a 37-year-old woman and her daughter.

This isn't the first time police have arrested people for fighting inside AMC Theater. One week ago, another large fight broke out. That time police arrested three people; one had to be Tasered.

"Do you think it's safe right now at Mayfair," TODAY'S TMJ4 reporter Melissa McCrady asked Green.

"Not on the weekends and not near the theater, I don't think so," Green replied.

Wauwatosa police say problems at Mayfair continue to rise. Last year they were called to the mall an average of 200 times a month. Police say if they knew how to fix the problem, they would've a long time ago.

"If Mayfair continues to have these incidents, I think people will stop going to the mall," Green stated.

AMC would not comment about either fight. Mayfair officials say they're working with the theater to prevent further problems.
