Packers "Fence Guy" Creates New Slogan

  • Print

GREEN BAY - The Packers "fence guy," Christopher Handler, is carrying on a true green and gold tradition. He has given his fence, across from Lambeau Field, a makeover complete with a few more layers of paint and mini-helmets of each of the teams the Packers play this season.

Each year, Handler writes a new slogan on the fence. He solicits ideas, and this year he received more than 800 from all over the world including Iraq. This year's slogan is: "How about a big hit Bigby?" It's a dedication to number 20 defensive safety Atari Bigby.

"He's a real big hitter for the Packers. I look forward to his energy and hopefully he can blow out some receivers tomorrow," said Packers fan Matt Vaughn.

Bears fans are not so excited. "He's a great player and big hitter. I hope he doesn't do well tomorrow," said Aleks Sowa.

Meanwhile, back at the fence, Handler says this year's fence is a work in progress. After each game, he will write the final score under each opposing team's helmet.
