Injured Bike Patrol Officer Speaks Out
A Milwaukee Police officer hit by a car is speaking out.
Bike patrol officer Thomas Ozelie was talking to a man who was drinking in his car Monday night.
When he told him to turn off the car, the driver sped off, clipping the officer.
"The next thing I knew he threw it in drive and struck me on the side and ran over my foot," said Ozelie.
"I'm glad officer Ozelie is doing well," said Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett.
"Obviously, he put his life on the line as men and women do every single day, and this was a near miss."
The officer's foot is not broken. He hopes to return to his bike patrol this week.
