Long Freeway Delays over July 4th Weekend

By The WTMJ News Team

KENOSHA - Drivers in Southeastern Wisconsin survived the July 4th holiday weekend, but some of them were not happy about the construction delays on I-94 southbound toward Illinois.

"It's horrible," said Felix Arrington, who is from Oshkosh, regarding the roadwork in Racine and Kenosha Counties.

"You have got two hour, three hour delays coming through there."

The state patrol says the traffic was slow, but not as bad as they expected.

Last week, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation warned drivers to avoid the freeway because of the expected heavy traffic flowing in from Illinois.
