Teenager Sentenced for Series of Rapes

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- An 18-year-old Milwaukee man convicted of raping three women last summer has been sentenced to 18 years in prison.

Michael Tarrell Mcthune pleaded guilty in April to three charges of first-degree sexual assault, while using a dangerous weapon. Two similar counts were dismissed.

The three charges carried a maximum penalty of 180 years.

Mcthune was 17 at the time of the attacks. Police say he targeted women walking alone late at night.

All five victims told police Mcthune flashed a gun or hinted he had one, then forced them to have sex with him.

A message left Friday for Mcthune's defense attorney was not immediately returned.

Mcthune was sentenced Wednesday. He's also charged in an unrelated matter with carrying a concealed weapon.
