Fire Reportedly Started by Firecrackers to Hurt Dog
MILWAUKEE - Thirteen people living in a north side house got out safely as a fire destroyed much of the building. A woman who lived there says the blaze was caused by firecrackers set off by kids attempt to hurt a dog.
The fire happened Thursday at the home on the corner of North 30th and West Vliet Streets.
"It's just a tragedy, from little firecrackers," said Beverly Patterson, who lives at the home.
"Somebody throwing up firecrackers, trying to hurt a dog, hurt an entire family."
Patterson explained that this was a good example of the danger of fireworks, which are illegal to set off in Milwaukee.
