Sheriff Threatens to Close County Pools Indefinitely
MILWAUKEE - A day after unruly crowds threw a lifeguard in the Washington Park Pool in Milwaukee, Sheriff David Clarke isn't mincing words about his tolerance for more such behavior.
In a statement, the Sheriff says he will close pools indefinitely per order of the sheriff acts of disorder occur.
The sheriff says, "What went on at Washington Park endangers the law-abiding people, and that is why we may feel it necessary to close those pools indefinitely. Activities such as pulling down a girl’s swimsuit top or bottom is savage behavior."
Clarke continued, "hot weather is no excuse to behave like a lunatic."
