Milwaukee Police Kill Rabid Coyote

  • Print

MILWAUKEE - Shots were fired on the lakefront in Milwaukee, but they were not at, or by, a criminal.

Rather, they were fired at an apparent rabid coyote.

That coyote is dead after, police say, the animal charged at officers.

It happened around 3:30 a.m. Thursday morning on the 1900 block of North Lincoln Memorial Drive.

An officer noticed a coyote roaming the area, apparently behaving strangly.

He called for back up and another officer on the scene said he was lucky he did.

When the officers got out of their squads to take a closer look, they claim that coyote ran toward them and they were forced to shoot it.

Police claim this same coyote has been harrassing people for several days in this neighborhood.
