Archdiocese Ordains 6 New Priests

MILWAUKEE -- The Archdiocese of Milwaukee welcomed six new Catholic priests to its ranks on Saturday.

More than 1,500 people packed into the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist for the ceremony.  Auxiliary Bishop, and acting Archdiocesan Administrator William Callahan presided.

Those ordained are:

  • Angel Anaya, 37, of Milwaukee.
  • Mark Brandl, 49, of Menomonee Falls.
  • Aaron Esch, 26, of Elkhorn.
  • Dan Janasik, 30, of New Berlin.
  • Sean O'Connell, 27, of Brookfield.
  • Luke Strand, 28, of Dousman.

This year's class of priests is the largest group in 17 years.  Most of the new ordinanees have already been assigned to area parishes.
