Chief Flynn Hits the Street

MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn hit the streets Tuesday night.  Chief Flynn gave officers marching orders in person, and in public near 47th and Vliet.

The goal is to show force and intimidate would-be criminal's.  "We feel a strong visible presence will reassure people who want to use their neighborhoods for the right reasons and deter people who might want to misuse these streets," the chief said.

Neighbors like the show of force.  "I think it's cool.  It keeps some of the little kids safe so they don't come up live generation now," one neighbor said.

After a big drug bust in the Washington Park area, Chief Flynn says he doesn't want other gangs shifting turf.
