TDS Phone Service Down
MILWAUKEE - Phone service for the Milwaukee area is down, TDS Telecom said Friday.
According to the company's website, a switch station in New Berlin is down, prompting problems in Milwaukee. No word on when service will be restored.
At one point, phone lines at the Waukesha Police and Fire Departments were down, officials said.
All 911 calls were answered and transferred to Waukesha County Communications. Phone service at the departments was back up and running by mid-morning.
