KENOSHA - Southbound I-94 in Kenosha County has been reopened after it was was shut down for all of Kenosha County to the Illinois State Line during a portion of the morning due to a multi-vehicle crash.

The accident happened around 8:40 a.m. near Highway 50.

Kenosha County Sheriff's Sergeant Gil Benn said that a number of vehicles collided against a wall, starting a chain reaction.

He also said there was a report of a jackknifed semi near the same scene.

Wisconsin Department of Transportation cameras showed at least a half dozen vehicles stopped on a snowy freeway at the scene of the crash.

Sgt. Benn stated that two minor injuries happened due to the crash.

Sheriff's officials in Kenosha said that whiteout conditions persisted during the late morning rush hour on I-94, and Benn suggested to only take I-94 in Kenosha County if absolutely necessary.
