Every day on Live at 3:00, we have a segment called “Sound Off,” where you can give us your take on a topic. Monday’s Sound Off Question: Should the city of Milwaukee be allowed to impose an additional sales tax on cigarettes over and above the $1.77 per pack state tax? This is based on a Journal Sentinel article that says one Milwaukee alderman wants a city cigarette tax. Alderman Terry Witkowski has introduced a Common Council resolution calling on the Legislature to let municipal and county governments impose their own cigarette taxes. Those local taxes would be collected on top of the state charge. Email us at soundoff@todaystmj4.com. You can also call us at (414) 967-5304. Click on the video link to hear some of your responses!
