Every day on Live at 3:00, we have a segment called “What’s Hot,” where we talk about stuff that really is hot, and we have you talking. Monday on Live at 3:00, Newsradio 620 WTMJ’s Jeff Wagner and Erin Austin appeared to talk about whether pediatricians should be allowed to question a child’s parents about their alcohol use. Researchers at Harvard gave a group of over 1,000 parents questionnaires that asked about their alcohol use and about their willingness to be screened by their child’s pediatrician. Seventy-three percent of those without alcohol problems said they’d be comfortable being screened by the doctor in person, compared to 52 percent of those with alcohol problems. Many with alcohol problems said they’d be comfortable being screened with a computer or pencil and paper surveys. They also discussed the first big snow of the season. It came and went Sunday night and into Monday. How was the commute for you? Will this winter be as bad as last? Are people overreacting? Click on the video link to see the discussions.
