Three Arrested For Bank Robbery

  • Print
GREENFIELD – Three suspects were arrested in a CVS Pharmacy in Greenfield after they allegedly robbed a TCF Bank Tuesday morning. Police say it all happened around 9:50 Tuesday morning at the TCF Bank at 76th and Cold Spring. Police described the armed robbery as a takeover robbery, and describe it as very violent. “Because once they're both armed with handguns, they're jumping the counters telling the people to get down on the floor. It was more violent than even your average bank robbery,” Detective Sgt. Dave Patrick said. They say two suspects entered the bank and jumped the counter and ordered everyone to the ground. Then, the suspects got the money, and took off. A getaway van took the suspects to the CVS Pharmacy near 27th and Howard. Police say a die pack exploded, and the suspects dumped the money out the window. An off-duty police officer gave Greenfield and Milwaukee police departments a good description of the van and suspects and an officer saw the suspects go into the CVS Pharmacy. With their guns drawn, officers entered the CVS Pharmacy and took two suspects into custody. Another suspect was arrested outside the store. “I didn't realize what was going on until I see officers with their guns drawn pointing inside the store,” witness David Lorenzo said. The area was blocked off because the money bag was dumped out the window and money was blowing around the area. There were customers in both the bank and the CVS Pharmacy, but there is no word of any injuries. Police are investigating to see if these suspects may be responsible for another armed robbery earlier Tuesday in Glendale.
