Local NewsHoliday Lights Turned On ThursdayBy Katie DeLong
MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee’s holiday season got off to kind of a shaky start.
One week ago, TODAY’S TMJ4’s Diane Pathieu was on the scene in Bay View as crews were harvesting the city/county Christmas tree.
TODAY’S TMJ4’s cameras were rolling as the tree was being lowered onto a flatbed truck, where it would then be taken downtown to Red Arrow Park to be on display throughout the holiday season.
Unfortunately, there was a bit of a hiccup in the harvesting of the tree.
As the tree was being lowered, the top portion of the tree snapped off!
Crews took the tree to Red Arrow Park, where they were able to put it back together using metal rods.
Thursday, the lights will be turned on.
They’re also turning on Milwaukee’s holiday lights displays Thursday.
TODAY’S TMJ4’s Diane Pathieu was at Milwaukee’s Pere Marquette Park Thursday morning talking about the lights display.
