Two Teens Arrested For Triple Shooting

MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee police arrested two 16 year old boys in connection with a triple shooting Wednesday morning. Police said they were arrested in the area of 35th and W. Vliet streets. Police detectives were also questioning the mother of one of the suspects about whether she supplied the gun that was used in the shooting. The triple shooting happened Wednesday morning near 94th Street and Brown Deer Road. Three young people were shot. The victims are ages 14, 15 and 17. Their injuries are said to be non life threatening. According to police, the incident stemmed from an altercation Tuesday night that took place on a playground. They early Wednesday morning, one of the victims encountered some of the same individuals again at a bus stop, and the altercation continued. Police said the individual left the scene and returned in a car with his mother to continue the confrontation. They said the victim got additional family members to come to the scene, where a melee ensued. Police said the mother of the primary suspect in the shooting retrieved a bag with a semi-automatic handgun inside. They said she gave the gun to her soon, and the 16-year-old boy fired one round in the air. Police said the victims jumped into a car and started to flee the scene. As the victims drove away, several more shots were fired at their car, wounding the three victims. Police said the primary suspect was first arrested as a 13-year-old for burglary and was arrested gain last May, again for burglary. Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn and Mayor Tom Barrett had harsh words regarding the incident during a news conference Wednesday morning. “This obviously is a horrifying situation where you have a mother of a 16-year-old who reportedly is involved by giving her 16-year-old a semi-automatic handgun," Mayor Barrett said.
