Waukesha North Students React After Crash

By Katie DeLong

WAUKESHA - Three Waukesha North High School students are recovering after getting into a serious car accident over the weekend. The crash happened at County Road DT and Madison Street in Genesee. As it turns out, the victims were not wearing their seat belts. TODAY’S TMJ4’s Jay Olstad talked with some of the victims’ friends Monday morning. As students walked to school Monday morning, many of them learned for the first time of the accident. "We chill all the time together,” Charles Braden said. Braden knows all three boys who were inside the mangled car. "Shocking because I saw them yesterday, when I was going to work. I saw them yesterday,” Braden said. Waukesha County sheriff investigators say 16-year-old Paul Dynis was driving 60 miles an hour in a 35 mile an hour zone Sunday. He was injured when he lost control and his car rolled several times on County Road DT and Madison Street in Genesee. "Now that I’m not going to see them is going to have me wondering all day, like if he's alright,” Braden said. Sixteen year old Anthony Cresci and 15-year-old Evan Carney were also in the car. According to family, Cresci's skull was fractured. Carney was ejected from the car and airlifted from the scene. None of them were wearing seatbelts. Although their conditions were not immediately available, the Waukesha Sheriff's Department believes the injuries are not life threatening. "I don't know how to react to that. It's kind of a shock to me. I just hope they are all okay,” one student said. Counselors were on hand at the school Monday just in case anyone needed to talk.
