WAUWATOSA – A 21-year-old Milwaukee man is in custody for the armed robbery of an 85-year-old man earlier this week. He is 85-years-old, and a World War II veteran. We'll call him "Jack." Jack was so shaken by an armed robbery that he would only talk to us about it, if we didn't show his face on camera. Just after 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jack was walking to his bank on North Avenue. As he reached the corner of W. Meinecke and Lefeber Avenues, a black Jeep Cherokee with two men drove up next to him. The passenger jumped out, and pulled a gun. "He says 'I want your money,' and I said, 'Well I don't have any.' So he started to search me," said Jack. "And I had some checks in my pocket and he took those and he ran off." According to a report by the Wauwatosa Police Department, the suspect held a gun to Jack's head during the entire robbery. "I felt like telling him to go get a job, but I didn't want to be sarcastic, and the other guy was laughing in the car... so I don't know," Jack said. The suspect also stole Jack's cell phone, and called the provider to see how many minutes were left in Jack's plan. This is the second armed robbery in Tosa since Saturday.
