FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) -- A Fond du Lac woman who drove drunk and caused a crash that killed a baby has been sentenced to six months in jail.

Thirty-two-year-old Shannon Baierl was driving a vehicle that crossed the center line and struck another vehicle head-on. Seven-month-old Karen Garcia died in the August 2007 crash. Her mother and two others in their vehicle were injured.

Deputies testified at an earlier preliminary hearing that Baierl's blood alcohol content was more than three times the legal limit.

Baierl was also sentenced to 15 years probation and ordered to take part in six public speaking events a year for the length of the probation.
