Women's Day At House Of Harley Friday

By Katie DeLong

GREENFIELD – The Harley-Davidson 105th anniversary continues through the Labor Day weekend, and there are Harley related parties all over town. At Hal’s House of Harley it was Women's Day on Friday… and it was all about the Harley woman. One very cool activity was a woman’s bike build. This is one event many riders did not want to miss: building a bike, one woman at a time. The Chopper Chicks were on hand Friday, teaching women how to build a bike from scratch. “I think it’s great to see these women putting their heart and soul and passion into this masterpiece. It’s good,” Barbie Braden said. Braden has been riding for years. She drove in from Melbourne, Florida. “I would really love to learn how to build bikes. I'm getting there one step at a time,” Braden said. That's the goal. “We want to make sure we get more women on bikes and feel that feeling of freedom too,” Kate, a Harley-Davidson promoter said. Once the bike is completed, it will go to RAACE, a non-profit organization dedicated to stopping child sexual abuse. Hal's House of Harley donated the bike and all the parts for the bike.
