WEST BEND - The former Texas Roadhouse cook who intentionally shoved hair into a customer’s steak is going to jail. Ryan Kropp was sentenced to six months behind bars and three years probation. Kropp apologized in court Tuesday. He insists he's ashamed, embarrassed and remorseful, but the man who bit into that steak stuffed with body hair...isn't buying it. “I get a feeling he's gonna do it again,” Kevin Hansen said. Hansen thinks the former cook who caused him so much distress deserves more jail time. Kropp was sentenced to six months in jail, on work release, for intentionally stuffing his hair into Hansen's steak. “I don't think it was harsh enough...he should've got more,” Hansen said. It happened in February at the Texas Roadhouse in West Bend. Twenty-four year old Kropp apologized in court Tuesday. “I am truly sorry for Kevin Hansen and his family. I never meant to harm them in any way. I thought of my actions as a prank,” Kropp said. TODAY’S TMJ4’s Melissa McCrady asked, “Do you accept his apology?” “No, not really,” Hansen said. Hansen thinks only time can help heal the pain he's suffered from Kropp's so-called "prank." “That was always the thing we did with family was go out to eat, dinner, that was our entertainment to do and now we don't do that no more,” Hansen said. Kropp was fired from Texas Roadhouse. He now works for a temporary employment agency. A spokesman for the Texas Roadhouse said they want “to assure the community that food safety and food quality are a top priority at Texas Roadhouse."
