Raw VIdeo: Arrests In String Of Robberies

By Katie DeLong

GREENFIELD - One arrest may have solved as many as 20 robberies. Two of the robbers were caught on tape holding a gun to the clerk at the BP at Loomis and Layton. They took money and cigarettes. Afterward, they hailed a cab because their getaway driver went around the block. A week later, they robbed Andy's at 27th and Layton. The getaway driver parked in a nearby parking space. Two of the suspects came in armed with a knife and gun. Police say the suspects poured coffee in the clerk’s faces. One victim didn't want to go on camera, but said he ran outside to a customer and saw the suspects running. He also saw an officer and waived him down. Officer Tom Rozsak is being credited with ending the robbery spree. He was on patrol and nabbed one suspect in the parking lot and led other officers to the other suspects. “It was a good team effort,” Officer Rozsak said. Police now say these suspects confessed to 20 robberies in Milwaukee where they targeted Indian owned businesses and threw coffee in the clerk's faces. The owners of the BP in Greenfield weren't injured, and are grateful to police for getting the criminals off the streets. “Yes they did an excellent job and they did say ‘don't worry it’s just a matter of time before we get them anyway,” Manjeet Sidhu, who was robbed by the suspects, said.
