Life In Prison, No Parole For Ayala

By Katie DeLong

MILWAUKEE - The man convicted of murdering a Miller Brewing executive will spend the rest of his life behind bars...without the chance of parole. His accomplice is also headed to prison. Emotions ran high Wednesday in court as the two men convicted of gunning down a Miller Brewing executive learned their fate. “The court is going to impose a sentence of life imprisonment without the possibility of any extended supervision,” the judge said in court Wednesay. It's a harsh sentence for one of Milwaukee’s most senseless crimes. Twenty-one year old Miguel Ayala will spend the rest of his life behind bars, without the chance of parole for murdering Vic Milford. “We have a good man, someone who contributed immensely to this community and this society dead,” Assistant District Attorney Mark Williams said. Milford was a Miller Brewing executive who, on January 26th, was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Some of his friends witnessed his horrific murder. “I'm a different person today than I was at the end of January. My faith in mankind is shattered and I’m fearful of walking on my own,” Milford’s friend said. Ayala's accomplice, 17-year-old Carlos Gonzalez was also sentenced Wednesday. He will serve a total of 30 years for serving as Ayala's "lookout." Both Gonzalez and Ayala apologized in court Wednesday. TODAY’S TMJ4’s Melissa McCrady: “Do you think those apologies were sincere?” ”I can only speak for myself, but I do not believe those apologies were sincere,” Milford’s friend, Manoli Kulutibis said. I do not believe those apologies were sincere) Milford’s friends are pleased Ayala will be locked up, unable to harm anyone else, but understand no sentence will bring their friend back. Also in court Wednesday, Assistant DA Mark Williams said Ayala is a dangerous man and said he is now where he needs to be. The defense plans to appeal.
