16 Departments Battle Sheboygan County Fire

RANDOM LAKE -Fire crews from 16 fire departments in three counties battled a large fire at the Advance Cast Stone Company on Highway 144 in Random Lake. The first units on the scene reported heavy smoke and flames coming from the plant. The business produces concrete beams, some of which were utilized in the Marquette Interchange. Firefighters from the Sheboygan County communities of Random Lake, Silver Creek, Adell, Cedar Grove, Cascade, Waldo, Beechwood, Batavia, the Town of Sheboygan Falls and Oostburg responded. In addition, four departments from Ozaukee County also responded including Fredonia, Belgium, Waubeka and Grafton. The Boltonville and Filmore fire departments from Washington County were also called. The cause of the fire is under investigation and remains unknown. No injuries were reported.
