Man Fakes Heart Attack To Avoid Bills

WAUWATOSA - Robert Farnum doesn't look like a movie star, but police say he's quite the actor. The 52-year-old man is accused of going to restaurants and faking heart attacks so he can skip out on the bill.
His "act" got him arrested last week after he faked heart attacks three times: at Applebee’s, on his cab ride to the Mayfair Mall restaurant and earlier that day at another eatery he didn't name.
TODAY’S TMJ4’s Ty Milburn dropped by Farnum's Waukesha home Tuesday to talk to him about his "heart" condition but he was nowhere to be found.
“He's never here. His mail's piling up. He's… his door was left wide open for two or three days straight. TV's on. Lights are on,” Farnum’s neighbor, Joe Ristow said.
Police say Farnum has a long rap sheet for the same offense.
They know him well at Famous Dave’s after an incident in February.
“(He) racked up about $30 worth of food, got sodas, desserts, stuff like that and then complained that he had diabetic problems,” Alex Neve of Famous Dave’s said.
His luck ran out when a doctor at the Wisconsin Heart Hospital turned him into police after seeing the alleged con artist one too many times.
Farnum told police that when he faked three heart attacks in a day he had $350 at home but he left the money there because he didn't intend on paying any bills that day.
