Storm Causes Damage In Franklin

  • Print
FRANKLIN – Storms blew through the area Monday morning, taking down trees and knocking out power. Perhaps the hardest hit was in the southern part of Milwaukee County. The storm came out of nowhere with a lot of rain and a lot of wind. Now, the cleanup in Franklin begins. At one point, there was so much rain, you couldn’t see in front of you. Add the wind into that equation and you have trees down and power lines down. One hard hit area was near Margaret Lane in Franklin. The storm damage is not good for anyone, but it’s especially bad for Melissa Toeller. She needs electricity to power her son Joey’s ventilator. They had to leave because they have no power, but before they did, she described what it was like when the storm rolled through. “A tree hit the house from the neighbor’s, and then after that a tree went flying over the house. You could hear it hit the house and then it took out the power lines,” Toeller said. Toeller took her son to her sister’s house. Thankfully, no one was injured. In the meantime, folks are cleaning up and trying to get the power back on.
