OSHKOSH - Police are investigating the mutilation of two gulls found with their eyes gouged out, some feathers ripped out and apparently left for dead.
The Oshkosh Area Humane Society called police after the two injured gulls were found in the city and brought in June 4 and June 5.
Police Sgt. Steve Kaiser said it appeared a tool or other sharp instrument was used on the birds.
Humane Society executive director Joni Geiger said the damage was done intentionally, and there is no type of bird of prey that would have done it.
The birds had to be euthanized because of their injuries.
