ALLENTON - A huge fire broke out at the Allenton Inn early Saturday morning. Two residents were forced to evacuate the apartment above the business, but were not injured. Click on the link under "Related Content" to see Raw Video The heavy black smoke could be seen for many miles. The building and contents appear to be a total loss. Fire units from six departments fought the smoke and flames for many hours after the initial 4:47 a.m. call. Nobody was seriously injured. The Allenton Inn is on Highway 33 just west of Highway 41. Traffic was blocked from entering the area. The cause is still not known, but investigators searched for clues after the blaze was brought under control.
