Alcohol, Speed May Be Factors In Deadly Crash

  • Print
TOWN OF LYNDON - Alcohol and speed appear to be factors in a fatal crash near Cascade. Investigators say a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier was eastbound on County Highway F early Saturday morning. The driver missed a curve and his car struck a guard rail. The vehicle continued through a stop sign at Highway 28, through another guard rail, and down a steep embankment, shearing off a power pole on the way down. The car came to rest on the driver’s side with power lines wrapped around it. The driver, Michael Rabuck, 26, from Adell, was transported by a Flight for Life helicopter directly from the scene to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa. The passenger, Matt Harris, 27, from Cascade, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Sheboygan County coroner’s office. Sheriff’s deputies, along with Plymouth Ambulance, Cascade First Responders, Cascade Fire Department Jaws of Life, and Waldo Fire Department, were dispatched to the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department crash reconstruction team.
